University of Bolton hosts School of Medicine community consultation event
Members of the public attended a community consultation at the University of Bolton to hear about exciting plans for a new School of Medicine.
The audience listened to presentations from Professor George E Holmes DL, President and Vice Chancellor of the University of Bolton; Dr Fiona Noden, Chief Executive of Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, and Professor Iqbal Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor, Institute of Medicine at the University of Bolton.
The event, held in the Deane Lecture Theatre, was chaired by the University’s Provost Professor Zubair Hanslot.

The University of Bolton’s President and Vice Chancellor welcomed more than 150 delegates to a special international conference to discuss the safety of older people and the wellbeing of healthcare staff.Professor George E Holmes DL told guests of the CESOP (Centre of Excellence for the Safety of Older People) and CRST (Centre of Remediation, Support and Training) event that the University had made huge strides in health education provision in recent years.He said: “We have grown for the past 12-13 years, from nothing in healthcare, to over 3,500 students in this area.“We know that health equality is critical to improve the life chances of our communities.
