DAY 1:

  • Ovarian Physiology

Ovarian and follicular function in relation to ovarian reserve, ovulation, luteal phase function and ovarian insufficiency.

  • Uterine and endometrial physiology

To be able to discuss endometrial physiology in terms of receptivity and implantation in assisted reproduction and apply the knowledge to personalise treatment options for optimising safety and success.

  • Male reproductive system and Spermatogenesis (Andrology)

To understand andrology in relation to the management of subfertility and assisted reproduction cycles to maximise success rates.

  • Diagnosis of subfertility

To understand evidence-based investigations for female and male subfertility.

  • Management of subfertility

Female subfertility, Tubal, Unexplained.  Ovulation problems, Endometriosis. Other endocrine factors, Uterine diagnosis, Psychological. Surgical interventions.

DAY 2:

  • Male factor subfertility

Medical management, Surgical intervention.

  • Assisted Reproduction Treatments (ART)

Clinical

  • Embryology

To understand the basic techniques and their applications and risks involved.

  • The role of Advanced Ultrasound Technology in ART

To understand and apply advanced techniques for diagnosis and during ART cycles to optimise success and safety.

  • Regulation, Ethics & Global Access to ART

The role of Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority & other national regulators, Welfare of the Child, Prevention of short & long-term complications, National registries & Future Research Opportunities.

  • Making ART accessible globally

To understand the role of the regulator and regulation in protecting the patient and offspring.
